Kontio is the main partner of the Finnish Pavilion exhibition at the 2025 Venice Architecture Biennale. The exhibition, titled The Pavilion – Architecture of Stewardship, places Alvar Aalto’s pavilion building and its maintenance at the heart of the narrative.

The Venice Architecture Biennale is the world's largest architecture event, held every two years. The 2023 edition attracted nearly 300,000 visitors. The 2025 Biennale and the Finnish Pavilion exhibition will be open to the public from May 10 to November 23, 2025.

The goal of the Finnish Pavilion’s 2025 exhibition is to redefine our relationship with the built environment by highlighting the often-overlooked knowledge surrounding building maintenance and care. The theme aligns closely with Kontio’s values: to create sustainable log home dreams for its customers. As a key partner, Kontio will showcase the ecological and architectural potential of modern log construction.

The Finnish Pavilion is a wooden structure designed by Alvar Aalto’s office, originally erected in the spring of 1956 as Finland’s exhibition space for the Venice Art Biennale. Intended as a temporary structure, the pavilion still stands on its original site in the Venice Biennale’s Giardini area and has served as a platform for a wide range of exhibitions over the decades. It is now a protected building and one of the most iconic architectural landmarks in the Giardini pavilion park.
