Tagatay, Philippines Architect Asko Lax
This log house in the Philippines is a masterpiece of modern wooden house architecture and it’s designed for extreme climatic conditions. Kontio’s design and engineering team was given the challenge of creating a design that could withstand super strong winds and even typhoons. Their unique solution was to add extra structural supports that connect the massive log walls to the eaves of the roof. So far the house has survived a category 4 hurricane with winds over 40 m/s and gusts of up to 100 m/s!
