Based on an extensive condition assessment, the Kuusamo City Council decided in December 2018 to construct a new primary school in Nilonkangas.

The city selected Kontio as the supplier of timber for the project.

Kontio Contributes to the Success Story of Monio, Tuusula’s Multipurpose Building

Monio is a multifunctional building project commissioned by the Municipality of Tuusula, combining, among other things, a high school, adult education center, basic arts education, and the Tuusula College into one building. Construction of the project began in the summer of 2021 and was completed in the summer of 2023. For this large log-constructed school project, Kontio provided the design expertise and the logs. The construction contractor was Lujatalo, with the total project value around 27 million euros.

Åre Sunset Peak offers a unique lifestyle in Scandinavia’s largest skiing centre. The seven ski lodges are located in the high mountains and the architects specifically designed them for this location.

Sunset Peak is a well-designed concept for a premium holiday experience, providing residents with privacy and incredible scenery. The buildings themselves combine stone and wood to give the exteriors a luxurious look. The spacious Alpine-style houses were also designed to have large windows overlooking the magnificent view, so that after a lovely day on the slopes you can relax and enjoy a beautiful sunset in peace and quiet. Naturally, there is a direct connection to ski slopes from the houses.
